Hi Guys,

Is there a way to setup Check-in Policy on TFS which checks the buddy build was ran and successfull to allow the user to check-in else the user cannot check-in and provide an information to user to run the buddy build before check-in.

Soemthing similar to check for up to date Build(Currently inbuilt in TFS).

-Thanks

Hi Henry,

Sorry for the late reply.

The answer is there is currently no check-in policy that does what you have described. There is however a Buddy Build work item and a Buddy Build Check-in Policy that can be used in conjunction with the Buddy Build Tool to help enforce a policy where checked-in code needs to be associated with a successful Buddy Build (pre-checkin validation) run. We chose not to make them available for general download to avoid causing confusion. However, we left the settings in the tool. You can pick up the installer for the Buddy Build Check-in Policy from:
http://www.codeplex.com/BuddyBuild/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=22186
Please read the installation guide before you install and let us know if you have any questions.
